This is the very first time I drew a Predator and it took about a day at work to finish and an evening at home for some fine tuning. The lulls between the busy times at work helped a lot. It's actually a glorified sketch and I realized the mesh didn't show up during the scan.
I don't know what my mind was thinking when I drew the short kilt, but I think it may have been from watching too many Roman epics or something. My friend at work liked it though and she now has the original. We've been quoting lines from the first Predator movie every time I walk by her cubicle on my way to the breakroom..."I don't have time to bleed"...."If it bleeds, we can kill it"...and so our day at work goes on and on and on...
This has good detail, I'd've loved to have seen the original drawing (scanners are such pains). You're a very talented traditional artist; probably more so now, seeing as this was drawn over 5 years ago
As I said 'pon first seeing this drawing, I think you did an excellent job, particularly considering that this was your first foray into the lively world of Drawing Predators for Kicks and Giggles. The armor detail is great, and we don't always need to see the mesh-suits.
I'm also glad to see that you've joined the AvP group. You've already got yourself a die-hard fan club, I see!
Oooh, yes on the Kicks and Giggles, but I'm still learning my graphic way around this vast fandom! But I'll still be in awe of your gallery and extremely grateful for your encouragement and constructive criticism. As for Guys in Kilts, I have nothing against them; I just didn't want to make it too obvious that I like them Does it show? heehehehe
Sarongs are cool too, but please, please do not let boyfriends, or brothers, or fathers, or nephews, or male cousins, or grandfathers wear sarongs with long, dark, knee-high dress socks and dress shoes. I happened to witness this strange fashion anomaly at the county fair the other day and it was quite jarring since I've only seen sarongs worn with either bare feet and bare chests (if one's male) or flip-flops/nice sandals
Sorry for the sarong rant...now for a Predator in a sarong...dang, I need to go clean my mind!
Batik! That was the word I was trying to remember, but it kept eluding me! Thanks for reminding me Now this is an image I'll be looking forward to; I'll put the mind-cleaning on hold!

Thank you so much for your comment! This Pred fan greatly appreciates it...{You killed a pig! A @%$#% pig!...Couldn't you have killed a bigger one?} I don't remember if that's how the line went, but I thought it was funny heehehe!
And what's wrong with Guys in Kilts?

I got an idea that I think may work. Need to scribble. Will keep you posted. Will avoid black socks.
